River District

River District is a master-built 130-acre community built on the banks of the Fraser River in Vancouver. A vibrant town centre will be the hub of the community with shopping, daycare, school, parks and community events like a farmers market and outdoor movies. There will be many new buildings adding to the diversity of River District with a completion date set for 2025. The brief was to revise and refresh their existing look, to bring some new graphic elements that can be used in all marketing materials and create a website that introduces the community and each new development that is under construction. I created graphic representations of the six elements that make River District unique. These then became the foundation for the graphic elements for the new visual identity. One of the most exciting parts of the project was creating 450 ft of hoarding for the district. The presentation centre is divided; one side is promoting the current development for sale while the other side is the permanent installation promoting River District as an area. We choose to keep this pattern not only to stay in line with the brand but to differentiate it from the opposite wall that will be using images of people, community and buildings.
